  20. Please note that this is NOT something that breaks software. JiffyDOS only
  21. allocates such variables when a JiffyDOS command is executed -- which
  22. means
  23. it really only comes into play after you have loaded an ML module that
  24. didn't set the top of memory down to protect itself, then executed a
  25. JiffyDOS command by entering one on the keyboard. The same effect, btw,
  26. would occur if you loaded such a module and simply entered A$="HELLO" on
  27. the keyboard in direct mode.

  29. With most programs, you load them and run them immediately, and this never
  30. comes into play. JiffyDOS has, after all, survived as long as it has
  31. because of its high level of compatibility.
